President of the Republic of Armenia Visits PKU and Receives Title of Honorary Professor in Political Science

Serzh Sargsyan, President of the Republic of Armenia, along with a delegation from Armenia, visited PKU on March 27, 2015. Zhu Shanlu, Chairman of the Peking University Council and Lin Jianhua, President of PKU received the guests at Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center. During the following event, President Lin first expressed his warm welcome to the honorable guests and then he conferred President Sargsyan with the title of honorary professor in Political Science of Peking University. After the presentation of the honorary title, students from School of Government presented President Sargsyan with a bouquet. Afterwards, President Lin invited President Sargsyan to deliver a speech on the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. FU Jun, Executive Dean of School of Government, Peking University.

President Sargsyan mentioned that China was one of the first countries to build diplomatic relations with Armenia, and he also talked about the current cooperation between China and Armenia and expressed his support on building Silk Road Economic Belt. President Lin and President Sargsyan both hoped that Educational cooperation could be achieved in recent future through the event.
